National Council for Women in India(NCWI) is a pioneering feminist organization , alongside Women’s Indian Association (WIA) and All India Women’s Conference (AIWC) and thus India’s first Representative in the International Council for Women ( ICW).

Founded by Lady Aberdeen of ICW and Lady Meharbai Tata in 1925, with the sole intention to promote economic status of underpriviledged women through skill development training programmes for social reform in the society at large in India. NCWI provides platforms for various women’s groups/associations/Centres spread across cities like Bangluru,Chennai, Kolkata,Shimla and many other major cities of India ,to address issues related to women’s upliftment coming from lower strata of society. The organization has maintained a voluntary and non-political structure evolving into the networking of thousands of members focused on upliftment of women’s community .

It is continuously contributing for Women Empowerment through its various women local Groups/Associations/Centres located at different cities/towns of India. NCWI has now grown into an enormous Non-Governmental Organization of thousands of dedicated women across India who are working for a common goal through various local Associations/ Centres.
